What is the Difference Between UTME and Direct Entry for JAMB Registration 2024
The main difference between UTME and Direct Entry for JAMB registration 2024 lies in the candidates’ qualifications and the purpose of each registration process:
- UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination): This registration is for candidates who have completed their O’level education and want to apply for admission into the first year of a university program. UTME is designed for secondary school leavers.
- Direct Entry: This registration is for candidates who have completed their ND, HND, NCE, or equivalent qualification and want to apply for admission into the second year or third year of a university program. Direct Entry is for those who have already completed their first year of university education.
Candidates can only choose one registration process (either UTME or Direct Entry) in a given year. The JAMB Direct Entry form is different from the JAMB UTME form. Direct Entry candidates are not required to sit for the JAMB examination.
