A private, independent college, Newbury College Brookline offers higher education. Edward J. Tassinari founded the college in 1962 and gave it the name Newbury School of Business.
Its original home was in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Newbury Street. Before moving to the former Bentley College site on Boylston Street in 1968, it first grew by buying residences on Commonwealth Avenue.
Three years later, Newbury changed its name to Newbury Junior College after becoming a junior college.
After that, the college grew by acquiring Bryant & Stratton College, Holliston Junior College, and Grahm Junior College, all of which were located in Greater Boston.
