Its original home was in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Newbury Street. Before moving to the former Bentley College site on Boylston Street in 1968, it first grew by buying residences on Commonwealth Avenue.

Three years later, Newbury changed its name to Newbury Junior College after becoming a junior college.
