Antioch University

The current time Horace Mann served as the organization’s founder and leader when Antioch University first opened its doors in 1852 with the goal of establishing an educational institution. His plan was to establish a nonsectarian, coeducational institute that would educate modern sciences and other subjects.

The institution developed and, in 1964, became Antioch University. Currently, the university has five campuses located in Los Angeles, the Midwest, New England, Santa Barbara, and Seattle. It is a private, nonprofit organization.

The students at Antioch are encouraged to improve and progress as a constant effort invested in justice and social and community service because of the school’s rich heritage of founders and early leadership. John Burns Weston, a previous student at the university, started a special tradition concerning growth and learning. During his 20 years at the institute, he simultaneously studied and taught.

The university, which has five campuses, has been welcoming of diversity while upholding the same traditional ideals in all of its facilities. A flagship program is well-known on each of its campuses. The university’s ability to link all of its five campuses together has always been special.

Based on these principles, the institution opened its virtual writing center, where students can receive free comments on their writing tasks and assistance with their assignments. A university-wide program for studying abroad is also offered in association with Carleton College.

For a single semester program, it hosts participants from various universities in the United States and Canada under the name Carleton-Antioch Global Engagement.

The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in its academic curriculum. Also, there are certifications. Over its five campuses, these degrees are provided in eight different academic fields.

Antioch also offers online education, and there are two online master’s programs. All five of its sites offer the university’s Ph.D. in Leadership and Change curriculum.
