Dr. David Yonggi Cho created Bethesda in 1976 as a Christian university. Finding Bethesda University was primarily motivated by the desire to start a cycle of missionary activity. The goal of introducing Pentecostal Theology was to aid in the formation of future leaders who would have the knowledge and vision necessary to locate churches and build biblical education institutions.
This institute operated as a worldwide integrated institute for intellectual as well as practical contributions to the movement with progress into the twenty-first century and Pentecostal movement. Its headquarters are in Anaheim, California.
