As a division of Calvin College and Theological Seminary, Calvin College Michigan was established in 1876. There were just seven students enrolled when it first opened as a school for ministry training, and it was known as De Theologische School.
The college has grown its academic offerings over time to include pre-professional courses and programs for teachers. Continually making growth, the college eventually became the four-year institution that it is today. In 1901, female admissions were first made.
Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the university was founded in 1931 and given the name Calvin College. The goal of the institution is to revitalize students’ Christian faith and provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to think critically, act morally, and succeed in their careers.

The NCAA Division I collegiate team, the “Knights,” participates in athletics during practices. The mascot of the college is “Joust the Knight,” and its colors are maroon and gold.
Undergraduate programs, more than 100 majors, minors, and additional programs are available at Calvin. In addition, the college provides two Master’s degree programs. Spoelhof Center, Calvin-Rehoboth Robotic Observatory, and a few other notable facilities are among its offerings.
